News:

13-Feb-2004: Upon various requests, after the Sunday excursion we will go all together to a traditional restaurant (not included in the fee). The bus to the restaurant will leave from the hotel at 7 pm (if the bus is returning late from the excursion, this will be announced at the hotel registration desk, and a tentative new time will be announced). We will return back to the hotel by Subway.

If you do not catch the bus for some reason, you can ask at the hotel desk how to get to it by taxi. The name of the restaurant: Peung Sung Bon Sha be Sha be, in Korean (please print this out for the taxi driver). Phone of the restaurant is 595-5720 (you can ask people at the hotel desk to call them). In case of trouble call the organizer: Prof. Han, cell: 019-320-5327.

12-Feb-2004: Excursion bus leaves from Ibis hotel at 9:00 am on Sunday and Saturday and at 8:30 on Wednesday. Transportation bus on lecture days leaves from Ibis to conf at 8:00 am and from conf to Ibis at 18:00 pm.

11-Feb-2004: Please URGENTLY send us the following information (use [X] for "yes"):

[ ] I will attend the conference
Name to put on my badge ____________________
[ ] I will pay my fee on site
I will attend
[ ] Sunday excursion, plus ____ accompanying persons
[ ] Wednesday excursion, plus ____ accompanying persons
[ ] Saturday excursion, plus ____ accompanying persons
[ ] only if it is DMZ
[ ] only if it is Suwon Folk village

See updated local information. In particular, how to get to the Hotel and Airport Shuttle schedule, how to get to CAU, the conf place. The excursion bus on Sunday leaves from the Ibis hotel at 9:00 am on Sunday and Saturday and at 8:30 on Wednesday.

We will provide free transportation between Ibis hotel to the conf place. The four working days of the conference the bus will leave from Ibis hotel at 8 am and from the conf place at 6 pm. It is intended to the registered participants who live in Ibis hotel, so that in case of lacking seats preference will be given to those persons.

We corrected the plan for the Sunday (first) excursion. We decided to go to several attractions on Ganghwa island in the Yellow Sea to the West from Seoul, among them a Buddhist temple (www.jeondeungsa.org) and traditional market.

Also, upon various requests, we consider changing the Saturday (last) excursion, to go to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone at the border with North Korea). We are now clarifying details on the possibility of this.

Lunch is not included in the excursions. There will be additional charge of about US$10 per excursion for lunch, which will allow us to pre-order the lunch (mostly vegetables) for all at once to save time. This charge is optional but strongly recommended: please be advised that the bus will not wait for people who make individual orders at the restaurant (you can take from home some snacks into the bus instead if you prefer so).

On Monday, there will be some "real" food (not just light snacks). So you can not plan a dinner on Monday evening and spend this spare time on shopping or enjoying Seoul.

28-Jan-2004: YOU NEED TO SEND A RESERVATION MESSAGE TO THE HOTEL. Hotel info is here. Ibis hotel, about $65 (5% discount on the weekdays if you say you are from CICLing). Please urgently send them a reservation message at ibis.res@ambatel.com. We will NOT be able to reserve a room for you, since the hotel required this be done individually.
